Nishijin is a group of about 460 small textile companies located in the northwest area of Kyoto City. It is famous as a Kyoto-origin brand, which produces many varieties of textile products using Jacquard looms. 12 of their styles are designated as a traditional crafts.
The Nishijin Textile group is going to display their latest works and culturally and historically valuable products, which totals about 200 works. The aim for this event is to increase its brand recognition. This is a four-day event going on from January 28th to 31st. In short, it is a mixture of a museum display and a promotional event focusing on traditional textile products.
For those who are interested in Kyoto’s traditional products, it is a good idea to put this event on the schedule. They have a shop and also host a small Kimono fashion show everyday (10:00, 10：50, 11：45, 13：15, 14：15, 15：15 and 16：00).
