4 Elephants Joined Kyoto Zoo

Kyoto Zoo recently welcomed four child elephants from Laos to the newly-opened facility called, “Forest of Elephants”. Specifically, Tomkum (7 years old female), Kumpart (4 years old female), Bunnyun (4 years old female) and Tomkam (3 years old male).

They arrived at Japan a few months ago, and they have been at the zoo since then. However, it was only one week ago that they were introduced to visitors.

These elephants were given to Kyoto Zoo by Laos, where the number of elephants has been decreasing. This is actually a win-win situation; Laos will learn how to breed elephants from Kyoto Zoo and visitors can see these adorable elephants.
