As explained in Kyoto Tower Plans for Total Renovation to be Sightseer’s First Destination, Kyoto Tower decided to conduct a total renovation. As a part of the renovations, it just opened a new tourist information center (this was almost exactly the same as my personal request seen in the article linked).
More specifically, this new information center will provide optional tours, and a reservation service for hotels and transportation in addition to serving as an information hub. Moreover, they even have a luggage holding room (paid), free WiFi, free printers, a remote interpretation service (6 different languages) and a religious space.
This information center is located on the 3rd floor, which means that now visitors can get information, use the luggage service, and rent a kimono/yukata on the same floor before going sightseeing.
