As mentioned on this website before, Kyoto Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum closed this summer. It was very sad for every train enthusiast in Japan. However, the great news is that the Kyoto Railway Museum will be built in the same location. Those who have been to Japan before must have experienced how useful and convenient the trains are. It is not hype to say that railway is a culture. In fact, there are thousands of train enthusiasts in Japan.
Recently the Kyoto Railway Museum announced that it will open on April 29th 2016. For those who are interested in the railway or those with kids who love vehicles in general, this can be a good place to visit while staying and sightseeing in Kyoto. This area also has Kyoto Aquarium, which is also a nice spot to visit with kids.
Unfortunately, the website is not provided in English (so far). So, here’s general information on the Kyoto Railway Museum from the Japanese site.
