Kodaiji Temple is a historical temple with cultural value. This is a great stop for those who are interested in Japanese history, especially the “Sengoku Period” (Age of provincial wars). Kodaiji was built to commemorate the late Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who ruled this country in 1590, by his wife Nene in 1606.
And in addition to its historical worth, another reason to visit this temple will be added. It’s a cup of coffee.
It might sound strange, enjoying a cup of coffee at a temple. However, this is serious coffee, produced by Slow Jet Coffee. It offers hand drip style coffee called Slow coffee and espresso style coffee called Jet Coffee.
At the Kodaiji Store, they also serve sandwiches and curry for eating-in and sweets at the take out corner. This will be also nice for those who happen to be hungry.
It will be a perfect rest spot after walking around and sightseeing Kodaiji Temple. By the way, Slow Jet Coffee also has a branch at Kyoto Zoo, which is an ideal place to visit for those with kids.
This new coffee store will open on March 22nd 2016.
