Kitano Tenmangu Shrine holds a monthly street fair event on every 25th. This is because the enshrined God, Michizane Sugawara was born on June 25th and died on Februrary 25th. Sugawara Michizane (845 – 903) was a well-known politician and scholar. And He is believed to be the God of Study.

This fair opens from 6:00 – 21:00, and there are many street vendors along the main street leading to the shrine. It is a good opportunity to try Japanese festival food. In addition, the 550 stone lanterns are lit up from the sundown to 21:00, which will enliven the atmosphere.
