If you are in Kyoto now (November 9th – 14th 2016), go to a Takashimaya department store or an Ikenobo Kaikan building to see the traditional flower arrangement collection provided by Ikenobo.
Ikenobo is the biggest flower arrangement sect in Japan, whose techniques and concepts have been passed down from generation to generation for about 500 years.
You need to buy an entrance fee for 900 yen (adult), however you can see the collection for free if you are either under 18 years old or wear a Kimono.
The collection is held at 10:00 – 20:00 (10:00 – 18:00 on 14th) on the 7th floor of the Takashimaya department store from November 9th – 14th and at 9:00 – 17:00 on the 4th – 7th floor of the Ikenobo Kaikan building from November 11th – 14th.
