The Most Japanese Illumination at Samurai/Ninja Theme Park in Kyoto

If you are in Kyoto (2016 December 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, 31st and 2017 January 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th), then it is a fantastic idea to visit the Samurai/Ninja theme park there, called TOEI Kyoto Studio Park, to see the fun and dreamy illumination.

This theme park has a lot of fun attractions and shows related to Japanese Samurai and Ninja culture, and they host this illumination event annually at the end of the year.

This year, they are hosting an Oiran (courtesan) parade with illuminated costumes (18:00 and 19:15), Samurais with illuminated swords (aka light sabers) (17:30, 18:45), an illuminated dome tunnel, illuminated street shops, an illuminated weeping cherry tree, and illuminated traditional houses that are beautifully reflected on the water.

For those who are interested in visiting this theme park for the illumination event, visit after 16:00 and get the discount (1300 yen/adult, 900 yen/middle & junior high school student, 700 yen/child older than 3 y.o.)

Note that theme park closes at 20:00 and this special event is held only on December 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, 31st and 2017 January 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th.
